SK communications network covers every nook and cranny of the country. It means SK Telecom operates a large number of base stations and repeaters. One of SK Telecom's main tasks is the maintenance of them to eliminate the possibility of communications disruption.

When network maintenance engineers checked the repeater or base station in the field, they have to climb up a high pole and ladder to access the console port even though they simply check the status and reboots the console, or just figure out what causes trouble.

To solve this problem, SK Telecom decided to introduce a Bluetooth module in the repeater. The technical requirements were that the serial communication SPP(?) should be available, the high-powered / high-sensitive module that helps engineers check in remote areas. Chipsen meets the requirements outstandingly by supplying the module to support the Class 1 Bluetooth module and the external antenna. By providing same modules to the Samsung base station, the mobile maker, we give efficiency to the network maintenance of the country and we are very proud of it.
